JoinEUI
What is it?
The JoinEUI (AppEUI) is a 64-bit globally unique identifier assigned to the LoRaWAN® network’s Join Server by either its owner or operator. It identifies the Join Server, used separately from the Network Server, which is unable to decrypt application-specific messages transported to and from registered end devices.
How does it work?
The goal of the JoinEUI is to determine which Join Server will be employed for the join procedure, allowing end devices to link with the network. During this process, it helps end devices establish a safe connection with the Join Server, providing an additional layer of security. As soon as the join procedure is completed, the Network Server can route the encrypted application-specific messages without decrypting them.
