Duty Cycle
What is it?
The duty cycle in a LoRaWAN® network refers to a cycle that indicates the fraction of time a resource is busy. For instance, if a device transfers on a channel for 3 time units every 10 time units, the duty cycle of this device is 30%.
Duty cycle considering channels
Calculation of the duty cycle becomes more complex if the channels are taken into consideration. For example, when the device transfers on 3 channels, not one, each channel still involves 3 time units every 10 time units. In summary, the device transfers 9 time units every 10 time units, and the duty cycle is then 90%.
