IoT Gateway
What is it?
An IoT gateway is an actuator that connects different types of sensors and devices in a single IoT network. It acts as a bridge between the smart sensors and the network server, where data can be processed and analyzed. An IoT gateway also provides security, data filtering, and protocol translation.
How does it work?
An IoT gateway works by receiving and transmitting RF signals, ensuring smooth communication between different types of sensors and devices in an IoT network. It can also allow bidirectional data flow between the network server and IoT sensors, enabling data upload and command delivery.
TECTELIC offers an extensive portfolio of LoRaWAN® gateways, which wirelessly communicate with devices and network servers, e.g., KONA Mega Ex. The working process is as follows: data from field sensors reaches LoRaWAN® gateways, where it is decrypted and sent to the network server. The network server then forwards the data to the application server and translates application commands into signals for field sensors, which are also transmitted by a gateway.
